About the Role

Risk underwriter for issuance of insurance policies in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and manuals.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assign and quote personal line insurance policies
- Process insurance policy endorsements and renewals
- Analyze customer requests, appraisals, and needs to identify the client's insurance needs.
- Manage notices of non-renewal or cancellations of insurers and identify alternatives for the placement of risks
- Update subscription policy information on systems
- Communicate with customers in the renewal process
- Answer questions from customers and producers regarding insurance coverages.
- Support in the claims process

Requirements

Minimum education

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

Three (3) or more years of experience in the placement and underwriting of property, automobile, and public liability insurance

Certifications/Licenses

The following certifications and/or licenses are preferred:

  • P&C Property and Contingency Insurance License  or

  • Designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)

Other qualifications

  • Writing and verbal communication skills; in both Spanish and English

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Ability to identify and resolve situations

  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle difficult conversations

  • Negotiation skills

Salary: $27,000.00-$40,000.00


Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm.   Full time.
